Audi revealed early last year that it was going to add a plug-in-hybrid option to several of its vehicles in the U.S. including the Q5 and A8. But it had kept us waiting on the 2021 Audi A7. The German automaker has now divulged that the plug-in-hybrid A7 will be a 2021 model in the U.S.; and it’ll qualify for federal tax subsidies.

The A7 55 TFSI e churns out 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque from its electric motor and turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which is 27 horsepower more and the same amount of torque compared to the V-6–powered regular A7. The hybrid’s powertrain is paired with Quattro all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The hybrid system in the A7 gives drivers the ability to decide where power is derived from and how much comes from either the engine or the battery. Hybrid mode is activated automatically when route guidance is in use. And based on the given route, the vehicle will optimize battery and engine use to increase efficiency. In EV mode, as long as the driver doesn’t accelerate too quickly, the battery powers the car exclusively; in Battery Hold mode, only the engine is used.

EPA hasn’t yet provided estimates on the efficiency and range of the A7, but the A8 plug-in hybrid, which also has a 14.1-kWh lithium-ion battery pack but also a more powerful internal-combustion engine, has an EPA-estimated 17 miles of electric-only range and 54 MPGe. The A7 comes equipped with a standard SAE J1772 connector; charging figures are yet to be released.

The plug-in-hybrid A7 comes standard with an S line exterior; which includes a sportier front fascia, a leather interior, and four-zone automatic air conditioning. The hybrid can be had in either Premium Plus or Prestige trim levels. But not the base Premium version of the standard A7, which means that its starting price is $5700 higher than the nonhybrid option.

The A7 55 TFSI e in Premium Plus trim starts at $75,895, or just over $500 more than the nonhybrid A7. The Prestige trim, starting at $81,245, is just under $2000 more than its internal-combustion counterpart. When the federal tax credit of up to $6712 is taken into account, the plug-in A7 becomes cheaper. The A7 55 TFSI e is set to go on sale in the U.S. this fall.

The base manual Versa S does come with lane-departure warning, rear auto braking, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. With the iVT, the Rio LX’s fuel mileage increases by 5-mpg city and 4-mpg highway—33 and 41, respectively—compared to last year’s model, which came with a conventional six-speed automatic transmission. There’s also a new 7-inch touchscreen supporting Apple Car Play and Android Auto standard on the 2020 Kia Rio.

Reviving the DBS and Superleggera nameplates this year will be Aston’s flagship grand tourer. The Vanquish successor will move up the ladder in terms of performance and will compete head to head with the likes of the Ferraris 812 Superfast. The car will be based on a modified DB11 chassis and will be powered by a twin-turbo V12 tuned to produce more than 700 hp. The DBS Superleggera will be revealed in June. In its first attempt at building a modern mid-engined supercar, Aston Martin is leaving no stones unturned. The British marque has hired the best engineers from Ferrari to beat the prancing horse at it’s own game.

While we don’t have any details on the powertrain, the car will likely come with a twin-turbo V8 and will borrow many of its elements from the monstrous Valkyrie.

Currently, the car is being given the finishing aesthetic touches at Aston’s Milton-Keynes studio. It will be launched in 2019, just in time when the 488 replacement is due.

It has been reported that the new hypercar might utilize modular underpinnings co-developed by the Croatian electric supercar maker Rimac and parent company Mahindra’s own Formula-E team. The total power output is expected to rival the 1,479 hp Bugatti Chiron. This is a New Supercar Launched 2020.

The cars will be based on a new Monocell II architecture that has been designed for a hybrid powertrain from the outset. A more refined twin-turbo V8 is likely to be the main power source, however.

On the styling front, the new sports series model will let go of the McLaren brand logo shaped headlights for new hollow outlets that we have seen in the new Super Series car. Expect a reveal at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. This is a New Supercar Launched 2020.

Codenamed BP23, the new hyper GT from McLaren will resurrect the central-driving position first introduced on the McLaren F1. The BP23 which stands for ‘Bespoke Project 2 with 3 seats’ will be the fastest McLaren ever, surpassing the 240 mph top speed of the F1.
The 4.0-liter V8 borrowed from the 720S will be combined with a hybrid system for a total output north of 1000 hp. Also, like the McLaren F1, the BP23 will be produced in limited numbers – around 106 units in total. All of which have been sold out.

The Ford Bronco is back: Ford reveals 2021 Bronco SUV & Sport

Good news for terrain lovers and enthusiasts. This car is symbolic of America, and it returned after 24 years of absence. 

Ford paid heavily to invite a country music singer and two climbers to talk about the Bronco. They talked about a series of related stories that took 3 minutes to launch a new car that is a legendary symbol of the United States.

Ford shared that they will plan to challenge Jeep with Bronco especially in the off-road market. CEO of Berylls Strategy Advisors, an auto consultant at Royal Oak, said. “But the symbol is back with a vengeance. Ford means business. This is the shot in the hands that consumers and dealers want and need.”

The Bronco, built from 1966 to 1996, developed a cult following and now commands high prices from collectors. It was discontinued in the wake of the accused murderer O.J. Simpson’s attempt to elude police in a white Bronco on national TV in 1994.

Consumers will see the small Bronco Sport SUV in showrooms by the end of 2020. The two-door and four-door Bronco version will be released in the spring of 2021.

“We started this project several years ago,” said Winston Landin, Ford global director of consumer insights. “The foundational principle, in the beginning, was really the fact that the Bronco had already been a brand and there’s a strong heritage around the Bronco. That’s important because the vehicle would need to deliver what’s true for the Bronco – capability, durability,  and of course the design. There’s a lot of emotional connection that people had with this specific brand.”

The Bronco Sport Price

The launch of Bronco and Bronco Sport comes at a critical time for Ford. Ford executives have predicted very profitable profits in a market segment that has room for growth.

The Ford Bronco will be built at the automaker’s assembly plant in Wayne, Michigan. The Bronco Sport will be built at the Hermosillo plant in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. 

Ford has reported it expects to lose about $ 5 billion in the second quarter, so this product is considered a premium and essential product in the company’s portfolio. 

The price for the two-door 2021 Bronco begins at $29,995 for the base model, including destination fees. The four-door base model begins at $34,695 including fees.

In their process of remaking the SUV for the 21st Century, Ford designers spent thousands of hours in the field.

“We have done a lot of observation,” Landin said. “For example, we spent time with customers for a whole weekend. We would start on a Friday and go snowboarding, go on off-road adventures, hiking,  and bike trails, and camping.”

With this return, Ford removed the keys for the car because the key was identified as their “pain point”. 

Ford observers have noticed that all mirrors in the car are removable and need to be relocated so drivers don’t go without mirrors or have to buy aftermarket parts. So that element has been redesigned.

The problem of the removable door also presents a challenge. People are concerned about leaving the door at home on trips and feeling vulnerable. So Ford sought to store the doors in the car. 

This was the second major reveal from Ford within three weeks. The company revealed the redesigned Ford F-150 pickup on June 25. 

The company initially announced the Bronco reveal for July 9, which fell on the birthday of Simpson, perhaps the most famous Bronco passenger of all time.

Can get a good deal on a loan?

 Although credit conditions have deteriorated for some buyers due to the hobbled economy, if you could afford a new vehicle before, you can probably still get a loan.

And interest rates have plummeted in recent months, hitting an average of 4.2% in June, down from 6% a year earlier, according to car-research site Edmunds.

Also, 0% financing offers are at “near-record levels,” representing 24% of sales in May and 19.4% in June, according to Edmunds.

Can get a good deal on a loan?

But Edmunds cautioned buyers to think hard before spreading out new-car payments over several years.

At 0% financing, a six- or seven-year loan could make sense for a responsible buyer, but for many Americans, relying on longer loan terms to justify their bigger vehicle purchases could put them at greater risk for negative equity in the future.

During the pandemic, used-car prices have been affected by several factors, including an influx of vehicles sold by car-rental firm Hertz, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. 

Over the last 90 days, used-car prices have fallen by 1.7%, according to car-buying site CarGurus. But over the last 30 days, prices have increased by  0.8%. 

For example, the 2018 BMW 3-series has dropped 28% since a year ago, but the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro has dropped only 3.7%, according to CarGurus. The 2018 Ford Mustang has fallen 10.2%, while the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette has declined only 6.6%. 

Those shoppers in the market for a used vehicle should be mindful that used vehicle prices are starting to increase as compared to the beginning of the year because dealers are trying to replenish supply for popular used vehicles.

Where are new-car deals popping up?

Honda, which typically spurns incentives, increased discounts by 43.8% in June, compared with a year earlier, according to TrueCar. Volkswagen Group, which includes VW, Audi,  and Porsche, has ramped up incentives by 27.8%. And Daimler, which makes Mercedes-Benz, has increased them by 24.9%.

Instead, they are being used as part of a broader strategy and targeted for specific weak spots.”For example, during the first weekend of July, Audi discounted the A3 sedan by 11.7%, Chevrolet discounted the Malibu sedan by 13.9% and Ram discounted the Ram 1500 pickup by 10.9%.

Are automakers increasing discounts?

Sometimes automakers sell vehicles at a high sticker price but provide discounts, often referred to as incentives, to make the effective price much lower.

For now, discounts are up year over year, but down compared with earlier in the pandemic,  as dealers look to preserve profits. Incentives per vehicle averaged $4,121 in June, up from $3,773 in June 2019 but down from $4,142 in May. 

Clearing out last year’s models?

Are dealers trying to sell off 2020 models before the 2021 cars and trucks arrive? About two months of downtime at most manufacturing plants due to the pandemic means that dealers don’t have a surplus of vehicles.

In fact, automakers are delaying dozens of new models while they sell last year’s.

Are prices dropping?

Not so much. The average new vehicle sold for $36,332 in June, which was up 3.2% from a year earlier.
